حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَرْبِيُّ ثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ
لَمَّا افْتَتَحَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ بْنَ حَبِيبٍ سِجِسْتَانَ وَكَانَ مَعَهُ أَبُو رِفَاعَةَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ أَسَدِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ تَمِيمِ بْنِ الدؤلِ بْنِ جَبَلِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ أُدِّ بْنِ طَابِخَةَ وَلَهُ صُحْبَةٌ «فَسَارَ فِي الْجَيْشِ فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي اللَّيْلِ قَامَ يُصَلِّي ثُمَّ رَقَدَ فِي آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ وَنَسِيَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ فَأَتَاهُ نَفَرٌ مِنَ الْعَدُوِّ فَذَبَحُوهُ»

✧ When 'Abd al-Rahman b. Samurah b. Habib conquered Sijistan, and with him was Abu Rifa'ah 'Abd Allah b. al-Harith b. Asad b. 'Adi b. Malik b. Tamim b. al-Du'il b. Jabal b. 'Adi b. 'Abd Manah b. Udd b. Tabikhah, who was a Companion, he traveled with the army. When night came, he stood to pray, then slept in the latter part of the night. His companions forgot him, and a group of the enemy came and slaughtered him.
