حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمُزَكِّي ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْحَافِظُ ثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ الْأَعْشَى أَخْبَرَنِي بَسَّامٍ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ الْكِنَانِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي حُبَابُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ
أَشَرْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ بِخَصْلَتَيْنِ فَقَبِلَهُمَا مِنِّي خَرَجْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةِ بَدْرٍ فَعَسْكَرَ خَلْفَ الْمَاءِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَبِوَحْيٍ فَعَلْتَ أَوْ بِرَأْيٍ؟ قَالَ بِرَأْيٍ يَا حُبَابُ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّ الرَّأْيَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ الْمَاءَ خَلْفَكَ فَإِنْ لَجَأْتَ لَجَأْتَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَبِلَ ذَلِكَ مِنِّي حديث منكر وسنده

✧ I advised the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Badr with two matters, and he accepted them from me. I went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the expedition of Badr, and he encamped behind the water. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, did you do this by revelation or by opinion?' He said: 'By opinion, O Hubab.' I said: 'Then the opinion is that you place the water behind you, so that if you retreat, you retreat to it.' He accepted that from me. A rejected hadith and its chain.
