حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ الْعَدْلُ ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ يَعْلَى قَالَ
كَلَّمْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بَايِعْ أَبِي عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أُبَايِعُهُ عَلَى الْجِهَادِ فَقَدِ انْقَطَعَتِ الْهِجْرَةُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ I spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about my father Umayyah on the day of the conquest, and I said: “O Messenger of Allah, accept my father’s pledge for emigration.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I accept his pledge for jihad, for emigration has ceased.” Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in al-Talkhis.
