حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْحَافِظُ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ كَانَ جَدِّي كَافًّا بِسِلَاحِهِ يَوْمَ الْجَمَلِ وَيَوْمَ صِفِّينَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ فَلَمَّا قُتِلَ عَمَّارٌ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «تَقْتُلُ عَمَّارًا الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ» قَالَ فَسَلَّ سَيْفَهُ فَقَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَسكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
