أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْلَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْبَاقَرْحِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْأَيْلِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
أَسْلَمَ الزُّبَيْرُ وَهَاجَرَ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ الْهِجْرَتَيْنِ مَعًا وَلَمْ يَتَخَلَّفْ عَنْ غَزْوَةٍ غَزَاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «آخَى بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ» وَكَانَ رَجُلًا لَيْسَ بِالطَّوِيلِ وَلَا بِالْقَصِيرِ خَفِيفَ اللِّحْيَةِ أَسْمَرَ اللَّوْنِ أَشْعَرُ

✧ Al-Zubayr embraced Islam and migrated to the land of Abyssinia for both migrations together, and he did not stay behind from any expedition that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ undertook. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established brotherhood between him and Ibn Mas'ud. He was a man neither tall nor short, with a light beard, brown-skinned, and hairy.
