✧ Mentioning the Virtues of Ubada bin As-Samit
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزَّاهِدُ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ قَالَ «كَانَ عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ وَشَدَّادُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ يَسْكُنَانِ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ وَكَانَ عُبَادَةُ يُكَنَّى أَبَا الْوَلِيدِ»
Translation
✧ Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad b. 'Abd Allah al-Zahid informed us; Ahmad b. Mihran al-Asbahani narrated to us; Abu Nu'aym narrated to us; Sufyan narrated to us from Thawr b. Yazid from Makhul, who said: "'Ubada b. al-Samit and Shaddad b. Aws used to live in Jerusalem, and 'Ubada was given the kunya Abu al-Walid."
