أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفَقِيهُ وَأَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَارِئُ الزَّاهِدُ قَالَا ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ثَنَا رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي حُثَالَةٍ؟» وَشَبَّكَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنِي؟ قَالَ «اصْبِرْ اصْبِرْ اصْبِرْ خَالِقُوا النَّاسَ بِأَخْلَاقِهِمْ وَخَالِفُوهُمْ فِي أَعْمَالِهِمْ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Abu Dharr, how will you be when you are among the dregs?" and he interlaced his fingers. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you command me?" He said, "Be patient, be patient, be patient. Treat people according to their character, and differ from them in their deeds."
