أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ الْحَافِظُ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَهُوَ يَأْكُلُ فَقَالَ «ادْنُ فَكُلْ» قَالَ إِنِّي قَدْ أَكَلْتُ قَالَ «عِنْدَ مَنْ؟» قَالَ عِنْدَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«أَمَا إِنَّ أَبَاهُ كَانَ سَيِّدَ قُرَيْشٍ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
