✧ Al-ʿAbbās was in Madinah, and the Anṣār sought a garment to clothe him, but they found no shirt that would fit him except the shirt of ʿAbd Allāh b. Ubayy, so they clothed him with it. Jābir said: Al-ʿAbbās was the prisoner of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Badr, and he was brought out only reluctantly, so he was taken to Madinah, and ʿAbd Allāh b. Ubayy clothed him with his shirt. For that reason, "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ shrouded him in his shirt as a reward for what he had done to al-ʿAbbās."
