✧ When the people of Makkah came to ransom their captives, Zaynab bt. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for the ransom of Abu al-As, and she sent with it a necklace that Khadijah had given her when she was married to Abu al-As. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw it, he felt intense compassion for her and said: 'If you see fit to release her captive and return to her what belongs to her, then do so.' They said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah,' and they returned to her what belonged to her. This is on the condition of Muslim.
