فَأَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ ثَنَا جَدِّي ثَنَا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالَ
«كَانَ الْعَبَّاسُ أَسَنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِثَلَاثِ سِنِينَ» أُتِيَ إِلَى أُمِّي فَقِيلَ لَهَا وَلَدَتْ آمِنَةُ غُلَامًا فَخَرَجَتْ بِي حِينَ أَصْبَحْتُ آخِذَةً بِيَدِي حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ يَمْصَعُ رِجْلَيْهِ فِي عَرْصَتِهِ وَجَعَلَ النِّسَاءُ يُحَدِّثْنَنِي وَيَقُلْنَ قَبِّلْ أَخَاكَ قَالَ وَمَاتَ الْعَبَّاسُ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَمَانٍ وَثَمَانِينَ سَنَةً
Translation

✧ 'Al-Abbas was older than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ by three years.' He was brought to my mother, and it was said to her: 'Aminah has given birth to a boy.' So she went out with me in the morning, holding my hand, until we entered upon her. It is as if I am looking at him kicking his legs in his courtyard, and the women began talking to me, saying: 'Kiss your brother.' He said: 'Al-Abbas died in the year thirty-four, and he was eighty-eight years old.'
