✧ Umar said to him: Who taught you this verse? He said: Ubay b. Ka'b taught it to me. He said: Take us to him. So they went to him, and he was leaning on a cushion, combing his hair. He greeted him, and he returned the greeting. He said: O Abu al-Mundhir. He said: "At your service." He said: This man told me that you taught him this verse. He said: "He spoke the truth. I received it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Umar said: You received it from the Messenger of Allah? He said: "Yes, I received it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," three times, each time saying it, and the third time he was angry: "Yes, by Allah, Allah sent it down to Jibril, and Jibril sent it down to Muhammad, and He did not consult al-Khattab about it, nor his son." Then Umar left, raising his hands and saying: Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar. Al-Dhahabi omitted it from the Talkhis due to its weakness.
