أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصَّفَّارُ فِي جُزْءٍ انْتَقَاهُ الْإِمَامُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَحْرِ بْنِ بَرِّيٍّ وَثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَحْرِ بْنِ بَرِّيٍّ ثَنَا أَبِي ثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثَنَا وَحْشِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبِ بْنِ وَحْشِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ وَجَّهَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فِي قِتَالِ أَهْلِ الرِّدَّةِ فَكُلِّمَ فِي ذَلِكَ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَرُدَّهُ

وَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَذَكَرَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَأَخُو الْعَشِيرَةِ وَسَيْفٌ مِنْ سُيُوفِ اللَّهِ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ And he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he mentioned Khalid b. al-Walid, saying: "Yes, a servant of Allah and brother of the tribe, and a sword among the swords of Allah." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
