أَخْبَرَنِي الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ فِيمَا قَرَأْتُهُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَصْلِ كِتَابِهِ قَالَ أَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ اللَّهَبِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ أُسَيْدِ بْنِ حُضَيْرٍ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ تَأَوَّهُ وَكَانَ يَؤُمُّنَا فَصَلَّى بِنَا قَاعِدًا فَعَادَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أُسَيْدًا إِمَامُنَا وَإِنَّهُ مَرِيضٌ وَإِنَّهُ صَلَّى بِنَا قَاعِدًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَصَلُّوا وَرَاءَهُ قُعُودًا فَإِنَّ الْإِمَامَ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا خَلْفَهُ قُعُودًا» صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح

✧ He was ill and used to lead us in prayer, and he prayed sitting. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited him, and they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Usayd is our imam, and he is sick, and he prayed sitting with us.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'So pray behind him sitting, for the imam is to be followed. If he prays sitting, then pray behind him sitting.' Sahih al-isnad, but they did not include it. Sahih.
