أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ
«مَاتَ أَبُو يَحْيَى أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ سَنَةَ عِشْرِينَ وَكَانَ قَدْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ ثُمَّ كَانَ نَقِيبًا صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَدُفِنَ بِالْبَقِيعِ وَلَهُ كُنْيَتَانِ أَبُو يَحْيَى وَأَبُو حُضَيْرٍ وَأَبُوهُ حُضَيْرُ الْكَاتِبُ وَلَمْ يُعْقِبْ أُسَيْدٌ»

✧ Abu Yahya Usayd b. Hudayr died in the year twenty. He had attended al-'Aqaba, then was a naqib. 'Umar b. al-Khattab prayed over him in Madinah, and he was buried in al-Baqi'. He had two kunyas: Abu Yahya and Abu Hudayr. His father was Hudayr the scribe. Usayd left no descendants.
