حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَطَّةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رُسْتَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الشَّاذَكُونِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ
«بِلَالُ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ وَيُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَكَانَ مِنْ مُوَلَّدِي السُّرَاةِ مَاتَ بِدِمَشْقَ سَنَةَ عِشْرِينَ فَدُفِنَ عِنْدَ الْبَابِ الصَّغِيرِ فِي مَقْبَرَةِ دِمَشْقَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ بِضْعٍ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً»

✧ Bilal b. Rabah, the freed slave of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, was known by the kunya Abu Abdullah. He was among those born in the Sarat region. He died in Damascus in the year 20 AH and was buried near the Bab al-Saghir in the cemetery of Damascus. He was sixty-some years old.
