✧ The plague struck Syria, and Amr b. al-As addressed us, saying: 'This plague is a defilement, so flee from it into the valleys and ravines.' That reached Shurahbil ibn Hasanah, and he said: 'Amr has lied. I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Amr is more astray than his family's camel. Rather, it is a mercy from your Lord, the supplication of your Prophet ﷺ, and the death of the righteous before you.' Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
