حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ
عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ «فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ عَائِذِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسَدِ بْنِ سَارِدَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جُشَمٍ وَكَانَ فِي بَنِي سَلَمَةَ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا وَمَاتَ بِعَمْوَاسٍ عَامَ الطَّاعُونِ فِي خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ وَإِنَّمَا ادَّعَتْهُ بَنُو سَلَمَةَ لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ آخَى رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ»
Translation

✧ From Ibn Ishaq, regarding naming those who attended al-'Aqabah: Mu'adh b. Jabal b. 'Amr b. Aws b. 'A'idh b. 'Adiyy b. Ka'b b. Ghanm b. Sa'd b. 'Aliyy b. Asad b. Saridah b. Yazid b. Jusham. He was among the Banu Salamah. He attended Badr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and all the expeditions. He died at 'Amwas in the year of the plague during the caliphate of 'Umar b. al-Khattab. The Banu Salamah claimed him only because he had established brotherhood with a man from among them.
