حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا الْعَنْبَرِيُّ وَأَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ مُوسَى الْفَقِيهُ قَالَا ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كَانَ لِرَجُلٍ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تَمْرٌ فَأَتَاهُ يَتَقَاضَاهُ فَاسْتَقْرَضَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ خَوْلَةَ بِنْتِ حَكِيمٍ تَمْرًا فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ وَقَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّهُ كَانَ عِنْدِي تَمْرٌ وَلَكِنَّهُ كَانَ عَثَرِيًّا» ثُمَّ قَالَ «كَذَلِكَ يَفْعَلُ عِبَادُ اللَّهِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَتَرَحَّمُ عَلَى أُمَّةٍ لَا يَأْخُذُ الضَّعِيفُ مِنْهُمْ حَقَّهُ مِنَ الْقَوِيِّ غَيْرَ مُتَعْتَعٍ» لَمْ يُسْنِدُ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ غَيْرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ الْوَاحِدِ وَلَمْ يُقِمْ إِسْنَادَهُ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ غَيْرُ غُنْدَرٍ فَقَدْ أَخْبَرْنَاهُ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ السَّيَّارِيُّ أَنَا أَبُو الْمُوَجِّهُ أَنَا عَبْدَانُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ مُدْرِكِ بْنِ الْمُهَلَّبِ بِسِجِسْتَانَ فَسَمِعْتُ شَيْخًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَهُ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

✧ A man had dates owed to him by the Prophet ﷺ, and he came to demand them. The Prophet ﷺ borrowed dates from Khawlah bt. Hakim and gave them to him, saying: 'Indeed, I had dates, but they were athariyy (inferior),' then he said: 'Thus do the believing servants of Allah act. Allah does not have mercy on a community where the weak among them cannot take their right from the strong without stammering.' Abu Sufyan did not narrate from the Prophet ﷺ any hadith other than this single one, and no one established its chain from Shu'bah except Ghundar. Abu al-Abbas al-Sayyari informed us, Abu al-Muwajjih narrated to us, Abdan narrated to us, my father informed me from Shu'bah from Simak, who said: We were with Mudrik b. al-Muhallab in Sijistan, and I heard a shaykh narrating from Abu Sufyan b. al-Harith from the Prophet ﷺ, and he mentioned it. But Abd Allah b. Abi Sufyan did not hear from his father.
