حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أَحْمَدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَافِظُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا أَبُو الْأَشْعَثِ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ الْكَلْبِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ عَيْشِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
سَمِعَتْ قُرَيْشٌ قَائِلًا يَقُولُ فِي اللَّيْلِ عَلَى أَبِي قُبَيْسٍ [البحر الطويل] فَإِنْ يُسْلِمِ السَّعْدَانِ يُصْبِحْ مُحَمَّدٌ بِمَكَّةَ لَا يَخْشَى خِلَافَ مُخَالِفٍ فَظَنَّتْ قُرَيْشٌ أَنَّهُمَا سَعْدُ تَمِيمٍ وَسَعْدُ هُذَيْمٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَتْ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ سَمِعُوهُ يَقُولُ أَيَا سَعْدُ سَعْدَ الْأَوْسِ كُنْ أَنْتَ نَاصِرًا وَيَا سَعْدُ سَعْدُ الْخَزْرَجِيِّينَ الْغَطَارِفِ أَجِيبَا إِلَى دَاعِي الْهُدَى وَتَمَنَّيَا عَلَى اللَّهِ فِي الْفِرْدَوْسِ مُنْيَةَ عَارِفِ فَإِنَّ ثَوَابَ اللَّهِ لِلطَّالِبِ الْهُدَى جِنَانٌ مِنَ الْفِرْدَوْسِ ذَاتُ رَفَارِفِ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحُوا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ هُوَ وَاللَّهِ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ وَسَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَحذفه الذهبي من التلخيص لضعفه

✧ Quraysh heard a speaker saying at night on Abu Qubays (in tawil verse): "If the two Sa'ds become Muslims, Muhammad will awake in Makkah not fearing the opposition of any opponent." Quraysh thought that they were Sa'd of Tamim and Sa'd of Hudhaym. When it was the second night, they heard him saying: "O Sa'd, Sa'd of al-Aws, be you a supporter, and O Sa'd, Sa'd of the generous Khazrajis, answer the caller to guidance and wish upon Allah in Paradise the wish of a knower. For the reward of Allah for the seeker of guidance is gardens of Paradise with raised couches." When they woke up, Sufyan said: "By Allah, it is Sa'd b. Mu'adh and Sa'd b. 'Ubadah." Al-Dhahabi omitted it from the Talkhis due to its weakness.
