حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ شُيُوخِهِ قَالُوا
«هِشَامُ بْنُ الْعَاصِ بْنِ وَائِلِ بْنِ هَاشِمِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَهْمٍ وَاسْمُ أُمِّهِ حَرْمَلَةُ بِنْتُ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ وَكَانَ هِشَامُ قَدِيمَ الْإِسْلَامِ بِمَكَّةَ قَبْلَ أَخِيهِ عَمْرِو وَهَاجَرَ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ ثُمَّ قَدِمَ مَكَّةَ حِينَ بَلَغَهُ مُهَاجِرُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَرَادَ الِّلَحَاقَ بِهِ فَحَبَسَهُ أَبُوهُ وَقَوْمُهُ بِمَكَّةَ حَتَّى قَدِمَ بَعْدَ الْخَنْدَقِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ فَشَهِدَ مَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الْمَشَاهِدِ كُلِّهَا وَكَانَ أَصْغَرَ سِنًّا مِنْ أَخِيهِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ»

✧ Hisham b. al-'As b. Wa'il b. Hashim b. Sa'id b. Sahm. His mother's name was Harmalah bt. Hisham b. al-Mughirah. Hisham was an early Muslim in Makkah, before his brother 'Amr. He migrated to the land of Abyssinia. Then he came to Makkah when he heard of the Prophet's ﷺ migration to Madinah and wanted to join him, but his father and his people detained him in Makkah until he came to the Prophet ﷺ in Madinah after the Battle of the Trench. He then witnessed all the battles after that. He was younger than his brother 'Amr b. al-'As.
