حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ
عَنْ شُيُوخِهِ قَالُوا «أَبُو كَبْشَةَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ اسْمُهُ سُلَيْمٌ وَكَانَ مِنْ مُوَلَّدِي أَرْضِ دَوْسٍ شَهِدَ أَبُو كَبْشَةَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا وَتُوُفِّيَ أَوَّلَ يَوْمٍ اسْتُخْلِفَ فِيهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَذَلِكَ يَوْمَ الثُّلَاثَاءِ لِثَمَانِ لَيَالٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ جُمَادَى الْأُولَى سَنَةَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ» حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص لضعفه

✧ From his teachers, they said: Abu Kabshah, the freedman of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, his name was Sulaym, and he was among those born in the land of Daws. Abu Kabshah was present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Badr, Uhud, and all the battles. He died on the first day of 'Umar b. al-Khattab's caliphate, which was Tuesday, eight nights remaining of Jumada al-Ula, in the year thirteen of the Hijrah. Al-Dhahabi omitted it from the Talkhis due to its weakness.
