حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ
عَنْ شُيُوخِهِ قَالُوا «اسْمُ أَبِي دُجَانَةَ سِمَاكُ بْنُ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ لَوْذَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ وَدِّ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ آخَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ وَشَهِدَ أَبُو دُجَانَةَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَثَبَتَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَبَايَعَهُ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ وَشَهِدَ الْيَمَامَةَ وَكَانَ فِيمَنْ شَرِكَ فِي قَتْلِ مُسَيْلِمَةَ وَقُتِلَ أَبُو دُجَانَةَ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَهِيدًا»
Translation

✧ From his shaykhs, they said: "The name of Abu Dujanah is Simak b. Kharashah b. Lawdhan b. Abd Wadd b. Zayd b. Tha'labah b. al-Khazraj. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established brotherhood between him and Utbah b. Ghazwan. Abu Dujanah witnessed Badr and Uhud and stood firm on that day with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and pledged allegiance to him unto death. He witnessed al-Yamamah and was among those who participated in the killing of Musaylimah, and Abu Dujanah was martyred on that day."
