حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ بُنْدَارٍ الزَّنْجَانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَمْزَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَمْزَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَبَلَغَنِي عَنْ أَبِي كَبْشَةَ السَّلُولِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيِّ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ حَارِسًا حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ وَجْهُ الصُّبْحِ أَقْبَلَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَذَا صَاحِبُكُمْ قَدْ أَقْبَلَ يَقْطَعُ عَلَيْكُمْ» ثُمَّ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ «أَنَزَلْتَ اللَّيْلَةَ عَنْ فَرَسِكَ؟» قَالَ لَا وَاللَّهِ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِلَّا قَاضِيَ حَاجَةٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَا تُبَالِ أَنْ لَا تَعْمَلَ بَعْدَ هَذَا» قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ فَذَكَرْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ لِأَبِي عَمْرٍو الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ فَحَدَّثَنِي الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ أَنَّ حَسَّانَ بْنَ عَطِيَّةَ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ بِذَلِكَ هَذِهِ فَضِيلَةُ سَنِيَّةٌ لِأَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيِّ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ أَوْلَادُ يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ عَنْ آبَائِهِمْ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ وَكُلُّهُمْ ثِقَاتٌ رواته ثقات

✧ The Prophet ﷺ sent him as a guard. When the face of dawn appeared, he came forward. The Prophet ﷺ said, "This companion of yours has come, interrupting you." Then he came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said to him, "Did you dismount from your horse tonight?" He said, "No, by Allah, O Prophet of Allah, except for a call of nature." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not mind if you do no work after this." Yahya b. Hamzah said, "I mentioned this hadith to Abu 'Amr al-Awza'i, and al-Awza'i told me that Hassan b. 'Atiyyah used to narrate it. This is a noble virtue of Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi, transmitted solely by the sons of Yahya b. Hamzah al-Dimashqi from their fathers from al-Awza'i, and all of them are trustworthy; its narrators are trustworthy."
