✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on the day of Uhud to look for Sa'd b. al-Rabi' and said to me: 'If you see him, convey to him my greetings and tell him the Messenger of Allah says: How do you find yourself?' He said: So I went around among the slain and found him in his last breaths, with seventy wounds, between spear thrusts, sword blows, and arrow shots. I said to him: 'O Sa'd, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sends you greetings and says: Tell me how you find yourself.' He said: 'Upon the Messenger of Allah be peace, and upon you be peace. Tell him: O Messenger of Allah, I find myself smelling the fragrance of Paradise. And tell my people the Ansar: You have no excuse before Allah if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is harmed while there is an eye blinking among you.' He said: Then his soul departed, may Allah have mercy on him.
