أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ دُحَيْمٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ بِالْكُوفَةِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَازِمِ بْنِ أَبِي غَرَزَةَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ قَادِمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ فَجَاءَ قَوْمٌ مِنَ الْكُوفِيِّينَ فَقَالَ

عَلِيٌّ يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ أَحِبُّونَا حُبَّ الْإِسْلَامِ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَا تَرْفَعُونِي فَوْقَ قِدْرِي فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ اتَّخَذَنِي عَبْدًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَنِي نَبِيًّا» فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ فَقَالَ «وَبَعْدَ مَا اتَّخَذَهُ نَبِيًّا»

✧ Ali said: "O people of Iraq, love us with the love of Islam. I heard my father say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O people, do not raise me above my station, for Allah took me as a servant before He took me as a prophet.'" I mentioned that to Sa'id b. al-Musayyib, and he said: "And after He took him as a prophet."

  • هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح
