أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَتْنَا أُمُّ بَكْرِ بِنْتُ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنِ الْمِسْوَرِ
أَنَّهُ بَعَثَ إِلَيْهِ حَسَنَ بْنَ حَسَنٍ يَخْطُبُ ابْنَتَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ قُلْ لَهُ فَلْيَقْانِي فِي الْعَتَمَةِ قَالَ فَلَقِيَهُ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ الْمِسْوَرُ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَمَا بَعْدُ وَايْمُ اللَّهِ مَا مِنْ نَسَبٍ وَلَا سَبَبٍ وَلَا صِهْرٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ نَسَبِكُمْ وَسَبَبِكُمْ وَصِهْرِكُمْ وَلَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «فَاطِمَةُ بَضْعَةٌ مِنِّي يَقْبِضُنِي مَا يَقْبِضُهَا وَيَبْسُطُنِي مَا يَبْسُطَهَا وَإِنَّ الْأَنْسَابَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ تَنْقَطِعُ غَيْرَ نَسَبِي وَسَبَبِي وَصِهْرِي» وَعِنْدَكَ ابْنَتُهَا وَلَوْ زَوَّجْتُكَ لَقَبَضَهَا ذَلِكَ فَانْطَلَقَ عَاذِرًا لَهُ

✧ That he sent Hasan b. Hasan to him to propose to his daughter. He said to him, "Tell him to meet me at nightfall." He said, "So he met him, and al-Miswar praised Allah and extolled Him, then said, 'Now then, by Allah, there is no lineage, no tie, no relation by marriage more beloved to me than your lineage, your tie, and your relation by marriage. But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Fatimah is a piece of me; what constricts her constricts me, and what expands her expands me. And lineages will be cut off on the Day of Resurrection except my lineage, my tie, and my relation by marriage." And with you is her daughter, and if I married you to her, that would constrict her.'" So he departed excusing him.
