✧ When 'Ali marched to Siffin, I disliked fighting, so I came to Madinah and entered upon Maymuna bt. al-Harith. She said, "Where are you from?" I said, "From the people of Kufa." She said, "From which of them?" I said, "From Banu 'Amir." She said, "Welcome upon welcome, and nearness upon nearness. What has brought you?" He said, "I said, 'Ali has marched to Siffin and I disliked fighting, so I came here.' She said, "Did you pledge allegiance to him?" He said, "I said, 'Yes.' She said, "Then return to him and be with him, for by Allah, he has not gone astray nor led astray."
