✧ 'When 'Uthmān was killed and allegiance was pledged to 'Alī, Abū Mūsā gave a sermon while he was in charge of Kufa and forbade the people from fighting and entering into the turmoil. So 'Alī dismissed him from Kufa from Dhū Qār and sent to him 'Ammār ibn Yāsir and al-Ḥasan ibn 'Alī. They dismissed him and appointed Qaraẓah ibn Ka'b, who remained governor until 'Alī arrived from Basra after some months, and he dismissed him when he arrived. When he marched to Ṣiffīn, he appointed 'Uqbah ibn 'Amr, Abū Mas'ūd al-Anṣārī, as his deputy when he arrived from Ṣiffīn.' Al-Haytham ibn 'Adī is abandoned.
