حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أَنْبَأَ شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ ثنا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ الْكَيْخَارَانِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ حَشَفَةَ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ فِيهِمْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ وَعَلِيٌّ وَطَلْحَةُ وَالزُّبَيْرُ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ وَسَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ فَقَالَ

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لِيَنْهَضْ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ إِلَى كُفْئِهِ» فَنَهَضَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ فَاعْتَنَقَهُ وَقَالَ «أَنْتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Let every man among you rise to his peer." The Prophet ﷺ rose to 'Uthman, embraced him, and said: "You are my friend in this world and the Hereafter."
