machine translationWe do not know this hadith to be narrated from the Messenger of Allah except through this route. We do not know that anyone narrated it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except Abū Bakr, nor from Abū Bakr except Zayd b. Arqam, nor from Zayd except Murrah, nor from Murrah except Aslam al-Kūfī. Aslam is an unknown man (ghayr maʿrūf); we do not know anyone who narrated from him except ʿAbd al-Wāḥid b. Zayd. ʿAbd al-Wāḥid b. Zayd was not strong in hadith; he was a devout worshipper from the people of Basra, and was not a memorizer (ḥāfiẓ) according to the people of knowledge. We mentioned this hadith despite the defect in it because we did not find any route for it from the Prophet ﷺ except this one, and for that reason we wrote it down.
