حَدَّثَنَاهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ الْجَلَّابُ ثنا هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ الرَّقِّيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا أَبُو سِنَانٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ ثنا النَّزَّالُ بْنُ سَبْرَةَ قَالَ

وَافَقَنَا عَلِيًّا طَيِّبَ النَّفْسِ وَهُوَ يَمْزَحُ فَقُلْنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ أَصْحَابِكَ قَالَ كُلُّ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَصْحَابِي فَقُلْنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ «ذَاكَ امْرَؤٌ سَمَّاهُ اللَّهُ صِدِّيقًا عَلَى لِسَانِ جِبْرِيلَ وَمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمَا» هلال بن العلاء منكر الحديث

✧ We met Ali in good spirits while he was joking, and we said, 'Tell us about your companions.' He said, 'All the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ are my companions.' We said, 'Tell us about Abu Bakr.' He said, 'That is a man whom Allah named Siddiq on the tongue of Jibril and Muhammad, peace be upon them both.' Hilal b. al-Ala is munkar al-hadith.
