✧ Lying is not appropriate, whether in seriousness or in jest, nor for a man to promise his son something and then not fulfill it. Indeed, truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. It is said of the truthful one: he spoke the truth and was righteous. And it is said of the liar: he lied and was wicked. A man continues to be truthful until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful one, or he continues to lie until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.
