✧ From Abu Sallam al-Bahili, a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from 'Ubada b. al-Samit, who said: On the day of Hunayn, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a piece of camel hair from the side of a camel, then said, “O people, it is not lawful for me of what Allah has granted you as spoils even the amount of this, except the fifth, and the fifth is returned to you. So pay back the thread and the needle, and beware of misappropriation, for it is a disgrace upon its perpetrator on the Day of Resurrection. And upon you is jihad in the path of Allah, for it is a gate among the gates of Paradise by which Allah removes worry and grief.”
