✧ He met the caravan of Muslims—they were merchants returning from Syria, heading back from Makkah—they intercepted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr with white garments when they heard of their departure. When the Muslims in Madinah heard of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ departure, they would go out every morning to the Harrah and wait for him until the heat of midday became unbearable. One day they returned after waiting a long time. When they had gone into their homes, a Jew climbed to the top of one of their forts to look out, and he caught sight of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions, dressed in white, with the mirage shimmering around them. The Jew could not help but cry out at the top of his voice: 'O assembly of Arabs, this is your companion whom you have been waiting for!' The Muslims rushed to their weapons and met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the edge of the Harrah.
