✧ He said: The first of the emigrants to come to us in Madinah were Musʿab b. ʿUmayr and Ibn Umm Maktum, and they used to teach us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived after I had read 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High' and some surahs from the Mufassal. Then Saʿd b. Malik and ʿAmmar b. Yasir came. Then ʿUmar b. al-Khattab came with twenty. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, and we were not delighted with anything as much as we were delighted with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The women and children began running about saying, 'This is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'
