✧ Ka'b said to Abu Hurayrah: "Shall I not tell you about Isaac son of Abraham the prophet?" Abu Hurayrah said: "Yes." Ka'b said: "When Abraham saw that he should sacrifice Isaac, Satan said: 'By God, if I do not tempt the family of Abraham at this, I will never tempt any of them.' Satan took the form of a man they recognized. He came until when Abraham went out with Isaac to sacrifice him, he entered upon Sarah, Abraham's wife, and said to her: 'Where has Abraham gone with Isaac this morning?' Sarah said: 'He went for some need of his.' Satan said: 'No, by God, he did not go for that.' Sarah said: 'Then why did he go with him?' He said: 'He went to sacrifice him.' Sarah said: 'There is nothing in that; he would not sacrifice his son.' Satan said: 'Yes, by God.' Sarah said: 'And why would he sacrifice him?' He said: 'He claims that his Lord commanded him to do that.' Sarah said: 'He has done well to obey his Lord if He commanded him that.' Satan left Sarah and caught up with Isaac while he was walking behind his father. He said: 'Where has your father gone with you this morning?' He said: 'He went with me for some need of his.' Satan said: 'No, by God, he did not go with you for some need of his; rather he went to sacrifice you.' Isaac said: 'My father would never sacrifice me.' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Why?' He said: 'He claims that God commanded him to do that.' Isaac said: 'By God, if He commanded him, he will obey Him.' Satan left him and hurried to Abraham. He said: 'Where have you gone with your son this morning?' He said: 'I went for some need of mine.' He said: 'No, by God, you did not go with him except to sacrifice him.' He said: 'And why would I sacrifice him?' He said: 'You claim that God commanded you to do that.' He said: 'By God, if God has commanded me, I will do it.' He said: 'When Abraham took Isaac to sacrifice him and Isaac submitted, God spared him and ransomed him with a great sacrifice. Abraham said to Isaac: "Rise, my son, for God has exempted you." And God revealed to Isaac: "I have granted you a supplication that I will answer for you." Isaac said: "I supplicate You to answer me: any servant who meets You from the first and the last, not associating anything with You, admit him to Paradise."
