✧ Indeed, the one whom Allah commanded Ibrahim to sacrifice from his two sons was Isma'il, and we find that in the Book of Allah in the story of the report about Ibrahim and what he was commanded concerning the sacrifice of his son, that it was Isma'il. That is because Allah says when He finished the story of the sacrificed one from Ibrahim's two sons: {And We gave him glad tidings of Ishaq, a prophet from among the righteous}, then He says: {So We gave her glad tidings of Ishaq, and after Ishaq, Ya'qub}, meaning a son and a son of a son. So He would not command the sacrifice of Ishaq while He had a promise for him from Allah as He had promised, and the one He commanded to sacrifice is none other than Isma'il.
