حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ ثنا ضَمْرَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُؤَذِّنِ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ فِي مَسْجِدِ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الشَّرْقَ أَوِ السُّوَرَ أَنَا أَشُكُّ وَهُوَ يَبْكِي وَهُوَ يَتْلُو هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {فَضُرِبَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِسُوَرٍ لَهُ بَابٌ بَاطِنُهُ فِيهِ الرَّحْمَةُ} [الحديد 13] ثُمَّ قَالَ هَا هُنَا أُرَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَهَنَّمَ

✧ I saw 'Ubadah b. al-Samit in the mosque of Jerusalem, facing east, or the wall – I am uncertain – and he was weeping while reciting this verse: {So a wall will be put between them with a gate, its interior containing mercy} (57:13). Then he said: Here the Messenger of Allah ﷺ showed us Hell.
