حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى الْحِيرِيُّ ثنا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ قَطَنٍ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ثنا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

يُؤْخَذُ بِنَاسٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ فَأَقُولُ أَصْحَابِي أَصْحَابِي فَيُقَالَ إِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَزَالُوا مُرْتَدِّينَ عَلَى أَعْقَابِهِمْ بَعْدَكَ فَأَقُولُ كَمَا قَالَ الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ {وَكُنْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا مَا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي كُنْتَ أَنْتَ الرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ}

✧ Some people from my companions will be taken to the left side, and I will say: 'My companions, my companions.' It will be said: 'They did not cease turning back on their heels after you.' I will say as the righteous servant 'Isa ibn Maryam said: 'And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them. But when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them.'"
