حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى رَفَعَ بَصَرَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَنَزَلَتْ {الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ خَاشِعُونَ} [المؤمنون 2] فَطَأْطَأَ رَأْسَهُ

Translation

✧ The translation is as follows: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his gaze towards the sky when he prayed, and then the verse would descend upon him: 'Those who are humble in their prayers' [Al-Mu'minun 2]. And he would lower his head."
