✧ A man said: O Messenger of Allah, I have much wealth and have family and children, so how should I act or spend? He said: "Pay the obligatory zakah as a purification that purifies you, maintain ties of kinship, and acknowledge the right of the asker, the neighbor, the poor, and the wayfarer." He said: O Messenger of Allah, reduce it for me. He said: "Then give the relative his due, the poor, and the wayfarer, and do not squander wastefully." He said: O Messenger of Allah, if I pay the zakah to the Messenger of the Messenger of Allah, have I paid it to Allah and His Messenger? He said: "Yes, if you pay it to His Messenger, you have paid it, and its reward is for you, and upon the one who changes it is its sin."
