✧ When Allah created Adam, He wiped his back, and every soul He would create until the Day of Resurrection fell from his back like tiny ants. Then He placed between the eyes of each human among them a glint of light. Then He presented them to Adam. Adam said, 'Who are these, O Lord?' He said, 'These are your descendants.' Adam saw a man among them whose glint between his eyes pleased him and said, 'O Lord, who is this?' He said, 'This is your son Dawud, who will be in the last of the nations.' Adam said, 'How much lifespan have You assigned to him?' He said, 'Sixty years.' Adam said, 'O Lord, add to him forty years from my lifespan, so that his lifespan will be one hundred years.' Allah, Exalted is He, said, 'Then it will be written and sealed, and it will not be changed.' When Adam's lifespan came to an end, the Angel of Death came to take his soul. Adam said, 'Do I not have forty years remaining of my lifespan?' The Angel of Death said, 'Did you not give them to your son Dawud?' He said: So he denied, and his descendants denied; he forgot, and his descendants forgot; he erred, and his descendants erred.
