حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْخَضِرُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ حَزْنٍ الْقُشَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُعَرِّضُ عَلَيَّ فِي الْخَمْرِ تَعْرِيضًا لَا أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ يُنَزِّلُ عَلَيَّ فِيهِ أَمْرًا» ثُمَّ قَامَ فَقَالَ «يَا أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَنْزَلَ تَحْرِيمَ الْخَمْرِ فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَتْهُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ وَعِنْدَهُ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ فَلَا يَشْرَبْهَا وَلَا يَبِعْهَا» قَالَ فَسَكَبُوهَا فِي طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and said: "O people of Madinah, Allah is presenting to me concerning wine an allusion, and I do not know—perhaps He will send down to me a command about it." Then he stood and said: "O people of Madinah, Allah has sent down the prohibition of wine. Whoever this verse reaches while he has some of it, let him not drink it or sell it." He said: So they poured it out in the streets of Madinah.
