أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُوسَى الْعَدْلُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أَنْبَأَ يَحْيَى بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ السَّعْدِيُّ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةَ ثنا عَنْبَسَةُ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ
«هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا سَعَةُ جَهَنَّمَ؟» قَالَ قُلْتُ لَا أَدْرِي قَالَ «أَجَلْ وَاللَّهِ مَا تَدْرِي إِنَّ بَيْنَ سَعَةِ شَحْمَةِ أُذُنِهِمْ وَعَاتِقِهِ مَسِيرَةَ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا تَجْرِي فِيهَا أَوْدِيَةُ الْقَيْحِ وَالدَّمِ» فَقُلْتُ أَنْهَارًا؟ قَالَ «لَا بَلْ أَوْدِيَةٌ» صحيح

✧ “Do you know what the vastness of Hell is?” He said: I said: “I do not know.” He said: “Indeed, by Allah, you do not know. Between the lobe of their ear and their shoulder is a distance of seventy years’ journey, through which flow valleys of pus and blood.” I said: “Rivers?” He said: “No, valleys.” Authentic.
