حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفَقِيهُ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ وَبِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْأَسَدِيُّ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ التَّمِيمِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ السَّيْلَحِينِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ شِمَاسَةَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا حَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ نُؤَلِّفُ الْقُرْآنَ إِذْ قَالَ «طُوبَى لِلشَّامِ» فَقِيلَ لَهُ وَلِمَ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّ مَلَائِكَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَاسِطَةٌ أَجْنِحَتَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ» رَوَاهُ جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَعلى شرط البخاري ومسلم

He said, 'Because the angels of the Most Merciful spread their wings over them.' Jarir b. Hazim narrated it from Yahya b. Ayyub, according to the condition of al-Bukhari and Muslim.
