✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Badr, "Whoever kills a killed person will have such-and-such." As for the elders, they remained steadfast under the banners, but the young men rushed to killing and spoils. The elders said to the young men, "Include us with you, for we were a support for you, and if something had befallen you, you would have come to us." They refused, so they brought their dispute to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: Then {They ask you about the spoils of war} [al-Anfāl: 1] was revealed, and the spoils were divided among them equally.
