✧ When the Prophet ﷺ obtained spoils, he would order Bilal to call out three times, and the people would bring whatever they had taken. Then he would order it to be divided into fifths. A man came to him with a halter of hair after the spoils had already been divided, and he said to him, 'Did you hear Bilal calling out three times?' The man said, 'Yes.' He said, 'What prevented you from bringing it?' The man made an excuse, and the Prophet ﷺ said, 'You will be the one to bring it on the Day of Resurrection, for I will never accept it from you.'
