✧ Ibn Mas'ud said: I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Hunayn, and the people turned away from him, but I remained with him among eighty men of the Muhajirun and Ansar. We stood firm for about eighty feet and did not turn our backs. They were the ones upon whom Allah sent down tranquility. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on his mule, moving forward, and his mule swerved, so he leaned from the saddle and his chest was exposed. I said, "Rise, may Allah raise you." He said, "Hand me a handful of dust." I handed it to him, and he threw it in their faces, and their eyes filled with dust. He said, "Where are the Muhajirun and Ansar?" I said, "They are here." He said, "Call them." So they came, their swords in their right hands like flames, and the polytheists turned their backs.
