أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ قَالَا ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى بَعْضِ أَهْلِهِ وَهُوَ وَجِعٌ بِهِ الْحُمَّى فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أُمُّ مِلْدَمٍ» قَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ نَعَمْ فَلَعَنَهَا اللَّهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَا تَلْعَنِيهَا فَإِنَّهَا تَغْسِلُ أَوْ تُذْهِبُ ذُنُوبَ بَنِي آدَمَ كَمَا يُذْهِبُ الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered upon some of his family while he was in pain from fever. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Mother of fever.' A woman said, 'Yes, may Allah curse her.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Do not curse her, for she washes away or removes the sins of the children of Adam as the bellows removes the impurities of iron.'
